Dr Andy Darma is the Pediatric Gastroenterologist of the Department of Child Health, Dr. Sutomo General Academic Hospital and Faculty of Medicine of UNIVERSITAS AIRLANGGA, Indonesia. He received his training as a medical doctor and subsequently a pediatrician and gastroenterologist at Dr Sutomo Hospital of Indonesia. He also underwent fellowship training in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at Royal Children Hospital Melbourne – Australia from 2012 till 2014. He is presently the full member of Indonesian Pediatric Society and Asia Pan-Pacific Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (APPSPGHAN), Member of Scientific Subcommittee Endoscopy APPSPGHAN as well as Corresponding Member of European Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN). He is also the secretary of Indonesian Scientific Society of Probiotic-Prebiotic, member of the Pediatric Gastrohepatology Working group of Indonesian Pediatric Society, committee of Institutional Review Board and Research Coordinator of Dr Sutomo General Academic Hospital.

My main areas of research interest include Inflammatory bowel disease, autoimmune liver disease, Budd Chiari Syndrome, complications of liver disease like portal hypertension, hepatic encephalopathy, ascites etc. I have over 160 publications in peer reviewed national and international journals apart from various book chapters.
I have previously worked as Secretary of the ISPGHAN (Indian Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition). I also work as the section editor for Pediatric Gastroenterology for the Indian Journal of Pediatrics.

Dr Lee Bee Wah is an Adjunct Professor at the National University of Singapore. She is a Paediatrician specializing in clinical paediatric immunology and allergy at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre and Visiting Senior Consultant Paediatrician at the Children’s Medical Institute, National University Hospital, Singapore.
She was a member of the Board of Directors of the World Allergy Organization from 2005-2009, Past President of the Asia Pacific Association of Pediatric Allergy Respirology and Immunology (APAPARI ) (2006-2008), and Past President of the Allergy and Clinical Immunology Society (Singapore) (2012-2013). She is also a member of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology and a corresponding fellow of the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology, Allergy and Immunology. She is the past President of the College of Paediatrics and Child Health, Singapore (2007-2009), and a member of the Expert Committee on Immunization, Ministry of Health, Singapore.
Dr Lee Bee Wah is an Adjunct Professor at the National University of Singapore, and a Paediatrician of many years specializing in clinical paediatric immunology and allergy. Her research has been focused on allergy development and allergens relevant to the Singapore population.

Dr James Huang graduated with honours from National University Singapore in 2007 as the medical school class valedictorian and was awarded the Dean's List award for all 5 professional examinations. He was awarded the GlaxoSmithKline book prize, Tan Choon Kim book prize, Medical Class of 1975 Gold Medal in Pathology, Margaret Lee Ming Yee Memorial Medal and Albert Lim Liat Juay Silver Medal for being the top student in Microbiology and Immunology, Neuroscience and Pathology respectively. He was also awarded the Dean's Most Outstanding House Officer award for Housemanship Year 2007-2008. He was appointed membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (United Kingdom) and subsequently completed his advanced specialist training in Paediatrics. He is the first paediatrician in Singapore to receive formal double accreditation in Paediatric Medicine and Paediatric Gastroenterology, fulfilling clinical training and endoscopy accreditation criterion aligned with the European Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition. He has also been awarded the Masters in Clinical Investigation coursework and currently is the principal investigator leading the study of the Microbiome and Metabolomics in Paediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease. He was also awarded the NUHS Academic Medicine Development Award to complete an Advanced Paediatric Gastrointestinal Fellowship in Paediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto Canada. Dr James Huang is a Consultant in the Division of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Nutrition, Hepatology and Liver Transplantation in National University Hospital. His main clinical interest is in Paediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease and is the clinical lead for diagnostic and therapeutic Paediatric Endoscopy in the department. He is one of the pioneer members for the Asian Paediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease network and has successfully inaugurated the use of a centralised registry to pool disease and therapeutic data across major paediatric gastroenterology centres in Asia. He is active in undergraduate and postgraduate education, and conducts regular educational lectures in Paediatric Gastroenterology for general paediatricians and medical students/nursing staff.

A/Prof Marion Aw is a Senior Consultant in the Division of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Nutrition, Hepatology and Liver Transplantation, and the Paediatric Liver Transplantation Programme, National University Centre for Organ Transplantation at National University Hospital (NUH). She is also an Associate Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. She graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and received her post-graduate paediatric training at the NUH. After completing her paediatric specialist training in Singapore, she spent 2 years with the Paediatric Liver Unit at King's College Hospital, London, United Kingdom. Her MD thesis (University of London) is based on clinical and research work done whilst she was there. A/Prof Aw’s area of clinical expertise is in paediatric gastrointestinal disease, hepatology and liver transplantation. She is a member of the National Liver Transplant Programme. A/Prof Aw also has an interest in nutrition and feeding issues in children. This led her to start the Interdisciplinary Feeding and Nutrition Clinic at NUH in 2013. In 2017, she set up the Paediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease Regional Network and is the Chair of its EXCO. In addition to clinical practice, A/Prof Aw is also actively involved in the teaching and training of medical undergraduates and post-graduate paediatric doctors. At NUH, she is the Paediatric Department's Director of Postgraduate Training and Chair of the Graduate Medical Education Physician Wellbeing and Resilience Subcommittee. She is also the Vice Dean (Students) for the Yong Loo Lin School of Medical.

He subsequently moved to the UK for higher specialist training in Paediatrics that was followed by sub-speciality training in Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition with exclusive training in Paediatric Transplant Hepatology. He has dual accreditation in both General Paediatrics as well as Paediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology with 10 years of experience in caring for children with gastrointestinal disorders, liver disease including the management of children requiring liver transplantation and pancreatic disorders.
He continues to be actively involved in research and various academic activities, having presented and published his work at several international conferences and scientific journals relevant to Paediatric Liver disease. Sirinuch Chomtho is Professor in Pediatrics at Chulalongkorn University. She is the head of Pediatric Nutrition Research Unit and the Division of Nutrition, Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. She finished her medical and pediatric training from the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University. From 2003-2008, she was a research fellow at the MRC Childhood Nutrition Research Center, Institute of Child Health, University College London, UK and Honorary Specialist Registrar in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, Great Ormond Street Hospital, London, UK. She obtained her PhD from the University College London in 2006 and the Diploma in pediatric nutrition from the UK Royal College of Pediatric and Child Health in 2007. Her research interests include the effects of early nutrition on long-term health, breastfeeding medicine, obesity, inherited metabolic disorders and the ketogenic diet. To date, she has published 51 original articles and 23 book chapters. She has a lot of experience in dealing with children with obesity and has conducted several clinical trials in this area over the past 2 decades. She is currently a scientific committee of the Pediatric Nutrition Association of Thailand and the Asian Pan-Pacific Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.

Prof Lee is a practicing senior consultant paediatrician of the paediatric endocrinology service at the Khoo Teck Puat-National University Children’s Medical Institute, National University Hospital, and also a tenured professor of the Yong Long Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He was the president (2020-2022) of the Asia Pacific Paediatric Endocrine Society (APPES), and the president (2021-2023) of the College of Paediatrics and Child Health, Academy of Medicine, Singapore.
His clinical and research interest is in obesity, diabetes, and growth. His research is focused on obesity, insulin resistance, and mediators of obesity related morbidities. His research approach to elucidate the biological susceptibility to human obesity and related morbidities is three pronged, by studying the 1) genetics, 2) In-utero and early life developmental factors (developmental origins of health and disease), and 3) role of gut microbiome. He has also research interest in engineering probiotics to confer health benefits and disease treatment. His other clinical research also encompasses various paediatric endocrine disorders. He has more than 250 publications in local and international journals (as of 2024).
In the recent years, Prof Lee has focused his efforts on the developing programmes and strategies to advance child and maternal health, promoting healthy living for families, and improving health equity through his leadership role at the National University Centre for Women and Children.

She is currently the head of the Department of Paediatrics at UM. Her deep interest in paediatric bioethics led her to complete her certification in Paediatric Bioethics at the Children’s Mercy Hospital, University of Missouri, Kansas, USA in 2016. She is also a teaching faculty of the Special Population course of the Masters of Health in Research Ethics (MOHRE) programme. She is the present head of Research and Publications committee of the Federation of Asia-Oceania Perinatal Societies (FAOPS), former scientific chairperson of the FAOPS 2022 congress, past President of the Perinatal Society of Malaysia (Council 2016/2017), member of the Malaysian Bioethics Community (MBC) and Clinical Ethics Malaysia (CEM), and is a steering committee member of the Malaysian National Neonatal Registry (MNNR). Dr Boey graduated in medicine from London University and obtained his specialization in Paediatrics in the United Kingdom. He subsequently subspecialized in Paediatric Gastroenterology in Australia, Japan and Singapore. He holds two doctorate degrees (MD and PhD) and is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia. During his 30-year career in Universiti Malaya(1992-2022), he has held various positions, such as Professor of Paediatrics, Head of Paediatrics and Postgraduate Deputy Dean. He was Visiting Professor of Paediatrics at the Juntendo University School of Medicine, Tokyo in 2007 and Visiting Professor of Paediatrics at Keio University School of Medicine, Tokyo in 2008. In 2008, he became President of the Asian Pan-Pacific Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. He received the “Darjah Setia Pangkuan Negeri” award in 2013 from the Penang Governor which carries with it the title ‘Dato’. After retiring, he continues to be Honorary Professor at Universiti Malaya and has also been appointed Professor of Paediatrics at the International Medical University.

Associate Prof. Dr. Jeyanthi is a Specialist in Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgeon with a particular interest in Paediatric Otorhinolaryngology and Otology and Implantation. She has over 16 years of experience practicing Otorhinolaryngology. She completed her medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) in 2001, and successfully obtained the FRCS in Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery in 2015 and was awarded an MD in 2016. Upon completing ENT training in Ireland, Associate Prof. Dr. Jeyanthi traveled to Birmingham, United Kingdom, to complete a year fellowship in Neurotology (2015-2016) and subsequently travel to Auckland, New Zealand, for a second fellowship in Paediatric Otorhinolaryngology (2016-2017) under Ethicon Foundation Travel Grant from RCSI. She joined University Malaya in December 2017 and was the head of otorhinolaryngology department in 2022 - 2024. She is part of the Research and Innovation Team to develop innovations in ENT. She also plays a role as clinical and non-clinical research supervisor for undergraduate, postgraduate master students and PhD students. She is well published and has written many book chapters. Her future aim is to focus on hearing health in Malaysia with the help of World Health Organisation (WHO).

Dr Koh Peng Soon graduated in 2002 with MBBS from the International Medical University. He first gained experience in Surgery working as a medical officer in the Department of Surgery, Hospital Taiping where he obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MRCSEd), UK in 2005. He joined University of Malaya in 2006 for postgraduate training and graduated with Masters of Surgery (MSurg) in 2010. He worked as a General Surgeon in Hospital Sungai Buloh for a year after graduation before rejoining University of Malaya as a Senior Lecturer and Clinical Specialist in 2011 for sub-specialty training and his interest in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery.
In October 2013 to September 2014, he spent a year as a Fellow and Honorary Clinical Associate at the Division of Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Surgery and Liver Transplantation, Queen Mary Hospital, The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
His interest in HPB field involves HPB malignancies, minimal invasive surgery (MIS) and liver transplantation. Besides clinical duties, he is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as well as research and already has several publications to his name.
He received his promotion to Associate Professorship in early 2019 and is currently the Head of Division of General Surgery and HPB Unit and worked as a Consultant Surgeon in the Department of Surgery, University of Malaya Medical Centre.

Professor Shireen Anne Nah is senior consultant and Head of the Division of Paediatric Surgery, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya.
Upon completing paediatric surgery specialist training at the Paediatric Institute, Hospital Kuala Lumpur, she underwent a 2 year clinical research fellowship at the UCL Institute of Child Health & Great Ormond Hospital for Children in London, UK. She then spent 8 years as a clinician, researcher and educator in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Singapore, before returning to Malaysia in 2019.
Shireen’s research interests include congenital colorectal conditions in children, health outcomes, and quality of life. She leads paediatric surgical oncology services in her unit, and is part of her centre’s pioneer paediatric liver transplant programme. She is committed to quality and standards in postgraduate training, and champions sustainability and diversity in surgery. She participates in multiple international collaborative networks in Singapore, UK, Europe and North America.
Her leadership positions include Vice-President (Malaysian Association of Paediatric Surgery), council member (College of Surgeons, Academy of Medicine Malaysia), & board member (Asian Association of Paediatric Surgeons). She is editorial board member for Pediatric Surgery International and Publications Committee member for the Pacific Association of Paediatric Surgeons.

Dr Ong Sik Yong graduated from University Sains Malaysia in 2005. After graduation, he underwent general paediatric training in Hospital Taiping, Penang General Hospital and University Malaya Medical Centre from 2007 until 2013. He obtained his membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 2011 and attained his Master of Paediatrics from University Malaya in 2013.
He pursued his sub-specialisation training in paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition from 2015 until 2018. His subspecialty training took place in the paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology unit in University Malaya Medical Centre, Hospital Selayang and Birmingham Children Hospital in United Kingdom.
Dr Ong established the Unit of Paediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Institute of Paediatrics, Hospital Kuala Lumpur in 2018. He was the clinical lead and head of Paediatric Gastroenterology/hepatology and nutrition unit in Hospital Tunku Azizah Kuala Lumpur (Women and Children Hospital Kuala Lumpur) from 2018 until 2023. Since its inception, the unit has emerged as a national referral centre for children with complex gastrointestinal and liver problems. His special interest include paediatric inflammatory bowel disease, functional gastrointestinal disorders and chronic liver disease. He understands and believes in holistic childcare which involve a sensitive, caring and individualized approach that strives to meet the needs of each child in a variety of ways.
He was appointed as the committee member for the Malaysia National Paediatric Liver transplant services in 2019 and President for the Subspecialty Subcommittee for Education (SbSC-Edu), Malaysian Paediatric Gastroenterology subspecialty training and credentialing committee member from 2022 until 2024. Dr Ong is the co-editor of a book entitled Paediatric Gastroenterology, hepatology and Nutrition: A Survival guide that addresses various common problems in gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition in children and has published various articles related to the field.

Dr Chuah Soo Lin is a Paediatric Intensivist and Senior Lecturer at the University of Malaya. Her experience in paediatric intensive care has helped critically ill children in many ways. She is passionate about teaching and training in paediatric resuscitation, in addition to mentoring students. Subhashini Jayanath is an associate professor and consultant developmental paediatrician at University of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC), Kuala Lumpur. Her areas of interest are autism, learning disorders and ADHD.
In 2017, Dr Jayanath prepared the developmental paediatrics subspecialty training criteria for UMMC, which is currently in use. In 2019, she started the Child Development Centre at UMMC.
Dr Jayanath has edited a newly-published textbook; Developmental Paediatrics: A Clinical Guide (UM Press, 2024), written a book for parents of young autistic children (Autism in Short: A Handbook for Parents, Gerakbudaya, 2018) and has authored chapters on developmental paediatrics in textbooks.
She is a Past Co-chair & Global Outreach Officer for the ECC of INSAR, an exco of the Malaysian Society of Neurosciences (MSN) and the Chapter of Child Neurology and Developmental Paediatrics, under MSN. She presented at the INSAR Institute 2023: Shaping the Future of Autism Research: A Global Perspective.
Dr Jayanath, along with other Subspecialty Education Sub-committee members of the Medical Education Committee, Malaysian Medical Council, revised the national training criteria for developmental paediatrics in 2020.
She is part of the University of Malaya research group working with the Collaborative Research Network for Asian Children with Developmental Disorders, United Graduate School of Child Development, Osaka University.

He specializes in childhood GI and liver disease and nutritional issues. His main research interest is pediatric inflammatory bowel disease, neonatal and childhood liver disease, and childhood nutrition. He is a past President of College of Paediatrics, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia, as well as a Commonwealth Scholar and a Fulbright Scholar. He is currently a council member of Asian Pan-Pacific Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (APPSPGHAN). Since January 2023, I have served as a Senior Lecturer in Surgery at University Malaya (UM) and a Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at University Malaya Medical Centre. My medical career began in the UK, where I spent 20 years. I completed 13 years of postgraduate training in General and Paediatric Surgery across various centres, primarily in and around London. This was followed by a subspecialist fellowship in Paediatric Colorectal Surgery in both London and Ohio. In 2019, I was appointed as a consultant paediatric surgeon specialising in colorectal surgery and laparoscopy. I have developed most of my experiences in IBD surgical care at St Mark's Hospital and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London. I now work very closely with a team of Gastroenterology, Surgeons and Surgical Specialist nurses to deliver care for iBD patients in UM.
Over the past 3 years, I also developed new skills in healthcare innovation and commercialisation, through the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme in the UK and UM Deep Tech Programme, our team has developed an app for children requiring long term follow-up.
In education, I am involved in teaching and examining within the UM Medical Programme and coordinating several initiatives, including the UM Silent Mentor Programme and the Student Holistic Empowerment Course called Surgical Spotlight. I am also dedicated to clinical, academic, and simulation training for postgraduate students in the national Master Programme in Paediatric Surgery.
